Our Vision To produce students who model responsible citizenship by demonstrating Christ-like conduct, exhibiting competency in academic skills, practicing teamwork in the community, and demonstrating a Christian world-view which reflects an appreciation for the diverse nations of people and the sovereign reign of God in all of life. Mission, Philosophy, Purpose and Design Grace Christian Schools exist to help Christian parents fulfill their divine responsibility of educating and training their children. The school is dedicated to providing a high quality, Christ centered educational program. Continuous since 1969, it has served Long Beach and the surrounding areas by providing a strong core curriculum for K through 6th grade. Faculty, Staff, Students Our born-again, dedicated staff helps students achieve a quality education in the core curriculum. Our faculty of degreed teachers and our support staff are highly qualified and committed to their tasks. Our ethnically and economically diverse student population is encouraged and expected to achieve to their fullest potential in basic skills. Academic Excellence With encouragement, children are guided to maximize their gifts and talents. Computer education, hands on math, and science, field trips and writing across the curriculum are all used to enhance and provide a creative learning environment for each child. Application of biblical truths ensures an environment enriched in opportunities to develop leadership skills. Students are encouraged to glorify God with their choices. A strong music program and chapel performances help students to develop an appreciation for the fine arts. Class Size Our class sizes are small and manageable. Classrooms are spacious and beautiful allowing for a variety of student activities, displays of work, and projects. After School Activities Students participate in sports leagues for basketball and football. Extended care is available 6:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Parent Involvement Parent participation is a definite part of our program. Parents have the opportunity to participate in the school's affairs through our PTF which meets monthly. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to join with the classroom teachers to provide a more enriched classroom environment. Community Involvement Involvement with the local rescue mission, missionaries and community activities allows students to become involved in philanthropy. Our participation with Samaritan's Purse provides opportunity for our students to experience sharing globally. Affiliations Grace Christian Schools is a ministry of Grace Brethren Church of Long Beach, CA. As a continuous member of the Association of Christian Schools International, students participate in Spelling Bees, Piano Festivals, Band Festivals, Choral Festivals and Speech Meets. Back to top
